6/13/2019: Perfect experience. Everything went very smoothly and everything from permits to inspectors was taken care of. Andy appeared very honest and didn't try to talk us into additional work beyond what was really necessary.
4/8/2019: Andy Chattoo was great throughout the whole process. I am not a computer oriented person, so he had the extra job of helping me navigate the EBB process. He was always reassuring and keeping me updated about each step. Andy was easy to get in touch with via phone, text or emails, always promptly responding, even if it was to say, can't take now, get back to you in a couple of hours. He was also in constant communication with his crew, which worked diligently and cleaned up afterwards each day.

His price was very reasonable, and he even reminded me as I was writing the check that I was forgetting my 5% seniors/veterans discount.

9/8/2018: I found Bay Area Brace and Bolt to be courteous, friendly and very efficient when doing the work. They kept me informed when they could schedule the work. I understand, since I believe they do not have a very large crew. While the before pictures required a retake the rest of the steps, permit, work and inspections went very smoothly.
8/29/2018: Andy was responsive both in coming for the quote and getting the work done. We put off the scheduling of the work for a couple of months as we were into another project, but he followed up at the time discussed and scheduled our work when we wanted it. Andy and his team were punctual and efficient. great communication and execution and he was so great at tracking it all and making sure it all went smoothly and easily for me.

8/24/2018: DID EVERYTHING FOR US, FROM DRAWING UP THE PLANS, GETTING THE PERMIT, SCHEDULING ALL INSPECTIONS WITH THE CITY INSPECTORS, AND UPLOADING ALL DOCUMENTS/PHOTOS TO EBB. AND MOST OF ALL THEIR ESTIMATE WAS GREAT. DO NOT HESITATE TO USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A HASSLE FREE PROJECT, AND WANT A COMPANY THAT KNOWS THE PROCESS.
8/21/2018: Andy was a real pleasure to work with. I felt very comfortable with his no-schtick, no nonsense, no-attitude style. The work was done in 2 days - first the drilling and bolting, and then after inspection, the sheer wall. It was painless. He was patient with all of our questions and so nice. I would recommend him in an instant.
8/7/2018: Andy came out right away and produced the lowest bid. Permits and EBB acceptance were delayed due to Oakland not having updated their property ownership records, but Andy got that straightened out. More delays waiting for city inspections, but the work was done in one day, clean and prompt. Again a wait for the final inspection, but EBB issued a check a few weeks later. All good. Thanks to Andy and his team.

6/25/2018: This contractor came to my house then I received his quote the next day. Whenever I emailed him with questions he quickly responded. He and his employees were polite and worked efficiently. The only negative is his workers didn't completely clean the area they were working on. After I notified the contractor someone returned to clean the area. I would recommend this contractor.

I found the contractor list and selected Andy Chattoo of Bay Area Brace and Bolt. He was experienced and understood the application of building permit. His crews worked diligently. Andy followed the final inspection of San Leandro building inspector. My personal comment is that the contractor contributes his effort. Job is not easy. Andy is doing the job right.

I did most of the communication afterwards coordinating payment, photos, paperwork and scheduling. He was always available by phone or text. The process went very smoothly and work was done in only a few days. And his pricing was extremely fair. I would recommend them to anyone needing to do their retrofit!
